Houses constructed of sawdust and sand;
Wrappers of plastic trashing the land;
Spewing exhaust, lining up for more fries,
While war machines endlessly take to the skies.
Our military is the envy of the world, they say:
Our destructive power keeps the commies away;
No “enemy” needs to fire a shot,
When “freedom” keeps us here to rot:
Destroying ourselves to preserve the American Way!
Pledge allegiance to the new American flag:
Dead branches clutching a plastic shopping bag!
Inflated like a windsock in the smoky breeze,
Swear your allegiance, get down on your knees!
Needles discarded on mountain and plain;
Narcotics taken to numb out the pain;
Fast food to hasten our inevitable demise,
While killing machines endlessly take to the skies.
Our military is defending freedom, they say:
Our destructive power keeps socialists at bay;
No soup kitchen needs to serve a drop,
When the wasteland fails to produce a crop:
Starving ourselves to preserve the American Way!
Pledge allegiance to the new American flag:
Dead branches clutching a plastic shopping bag!
Inflated like a windsock in the toxic breeze,
Swear your allegiance, get down on your knees!
Bunkers constructed to house the elite;
Check out the view: Walls of concrete;
Subsisting on a diet of reconstituted fries,
Never again looking up to the skies.
Our military was the envy of the world, they would say:
Our destructive power blew them all away;
No “enemy” had to fire a shot,
Our “freedom” kept us here to rot:
Imprisoning ourselves to preserve the American Way!
Pledge allegiance to the new American flag:
Dead branches clutching a plastic shopping bag!
Inflated like a windsock in the radioactive breeze,
Swear your allegiance, get down on your knees!
